Having worked in diverse industries, from direct marketing and digital strategy to property management, they are passionate about fostering community engagement, enhancing communication, and contributing to the long-term success of MCC of the Rockies.
As a Board Member, Alex Ortiz is committed to supporting initiatives that improve the brand outreach to the greater Denver area. They are particularly focused on leveraging their expertise in digital marketing and communication strategies to increase outreach, collaboration, and the visibility of the church.
Alex Ortiz looks forward to making meaningful contributions that will help MCC of the Rockies grow and thrive in the years to come.

Board Member John F. Krotchro
John is a Family Practice physician at Denver Health and practices at the Eastside Family Health Center in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood.
As the gay son of a pastor of the Calvin Presbyterian Church in working class Linden, New Jersey, John has always felt challenged to follow his own path spiritually while honoring and reckoning with his Christian roots.
He joined MCC San Francisco in 1993 and has been an active member of MCC of the Rockies since 2013. He’s also a longtime member of the Denver Gay Mens Chorus and loves to sing with this group as well as the Praise Team at MCCR.
John feels privileged to live in the beautiful city of Denver and celebrates the diversity of its many communities, including and especially the LGBTQ+/queer community. He is proud to serve on the board of directors of MCCR and make it a vibrant and welcoming house of prayer for all people.

Al has been involved in the Denver community both church and neighborhood organizations for many years. He has been attending MCCR for 27+ years. He has been part of the choir, worship team, and treasury team. He continues to volunteer where he is needed.

James also serves as Community Development and Outreach Coordinator and as Worship Team Lead. James has attended MCC since 1991. He likes painting and reading.
